The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live In Cologne, the twelfth release in the Dagger Records official bootleg series, documents this spirited, January 13, 1969 performance at the Sporthalle in Cologne, Germany.

Hendrix kicked off the proceedings with a scalding “Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)” from Electric Ladyland. This Earl King chestnut had long been a favorite of Jimi’s and here he began with a driving solo introduction before signaling Redding and Mitchell to join. Next followed a blistering version of “Foxey Lady,” a perennial stage favorite.

An abrupt tape cut precedes a memorable rendition of “Red House.” Thankfully the performance is essentially complete lacking only Jimi’s prefacing stage banter, offered as he likely changed guitars before starting. “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” followed next, not yet established as Jimi’s closing number as it would become later in 1969 and remain so throughout his career, but no less muscular.

Jimi then shifted directly into “Fire” and then a thunderous “Spanish Castle Magic.” The Experience were clearly locked in sync, pushing each other throughout all to the delight of their audience. The Experience never backed off, launching next into their first single “Hey Joe.” Jimi had to do some quick tuning on the fly, but he pressed on undaunted, boldly dashing off a lick from the Beatles’ “I Feel Fine” as he barreled through this uptempo rendition. This driving intensity built up after the solo, underscored by Jimi’s rhythm guitar work and Mitchell’s superb drumming before culminating in a rousing finale.

“Sunshine Of Your Love” was offered in tribute to Cream, all to the delight of the audience whose howls of approval can be heard even during Redding’s bass solo. “Star Spangled Banner” and “Purple Haze” capped off a truly memorable night and then the Experience were gone, whisked off to the next city and another unsuspecting audience.

This album was not drawn from professionally recorded masters but instead an amateur, monophonic audience recording. As a result, the recording is not without various technical flaws and sonic limitations. Nonetheless, this special ‘official bootleg’ stands as a captivating document of this important chapter of Jimi’s legacy.

Unique to this vinyl-only Dagger Records release, is an accompanying redemption card that features a unique access code allowing purchasers to download a free digital copy of the album in MP3 format.

Jimi Hendrix The Ultimate Lyric Book
Jimi Hendrix was such an extraordinary guitarist, it can be easy to forget that just as much passion, soul, and precision went into his lyrics. Inspired by Bob Dylan, Hendrix was a fearless lyrical innovator, willing to let his imagination guide him to landscapes hitherto unexplored within the realm of pop music. From the existential euphoria of “I Don't Love Today” to the elusive beauty of “Little Wing” to the psychedelic blues of “My Friend” to the otherworldly “1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be),” his lyrics remain among the greatest in the pantheon of rock, infused with the same inventiveness, virtuosity, and courage that informed his guitar playing. Here are all the words to the Hendrix classics you've rocked along to for years, as well as unpublished songs from “Valley of Neptune” and other hitherto undiscovered sources. Jimi Hendrix: The Ultimate Lyrics Book, compiled by Janie L. Hendrix, is extraordinarily personal. It includes numerous examples of Jimi's handwritten lyrics, often scribbled on hotel stationery, as well as photos of Jimi to accompany every song. Much of this material has never been seen before. Jimi Hendrix: The Ultimate Lyrics Book will give you a glimpse of the lyricist behind the songs, a songwriter whose words were just as searing as his solos.

Jimi Hendrix Experience: Paris 1967/San Franciso 1968 CD
Part one of this collection features The Experience’s October 9, 1967 performances at Paris’ famed L’Olympia Theatre. These raw, direct to two-track live recordings made for French radio document The Experience's triumphant return to Paris almost one year to the date of their 1966 showcase as a support act for Johnny Hallyday. This return engagement saw an exuberant, sold out house roared their approval throughout the evening. The L’Olympia performance came just eight days after sessions for what would become Axis: Bold As Love had resumed at London's Olympic Studios on October 1, 1967. The Experience was in top form on this evening, roaring out of the gate with "Stone Free" and followed, much to the frenzied delight of the audience, with vibrant renditions of "Hey Joe" and "Fire." Beyond the two songs already set aside as part of 2000’s The Jimi Hendrix Experience box set, two additional Paris performances have not been included on this release. Technical problems commenced during the latter half of "Catfish Blues" and a malfunctioning microphone rendered "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" and "Foxey Lady" unusable. Thankfully, Jimi's vocal microphone was restored just prior to the start of B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby." A compact "Red House" prefaced a grinding, muscular take of "Purple Haze." From Paris we move to San Francisco and The Winterland Ballroom. In the interim, the Experience had completed Axis: Bold As Love and had come to San Francisco to kick off their US tour in support of the album. Impresario Bill Graham had booked the group to perform eight concerts over four consecutive nights. The Experience performed at the Fillmore Auditorium on February 1st while The Winterland Ballroom hosted the performances on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Each of the eight performances were sold out. Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live In Paris & Ottawa 1968 CD
Live In Paris & Ottawa 1968 presents two fiery live performances that highlight Jimi Hendrix's rapidly evolving music repertoire as the rock trio embarked on a worldwide tour in support of their sophomore release, Axis: Bold As Love. Part one begins with a rousing performance at Paris’ famed L'Olympia Theatre on January 29, 1968, marking The Experience’s third performance at the venue in just over a year. Originally released as part of the 1991 box set Stages, The Experience's L'Olympia Theatre performance makes it's return engagement to CD for the first time in more than 15 years. Like all previous recordings in the Dagger Records library, Live In Paris & Ottawa 1968 is once again highlighted by posthumous studio engineering and mastering by our dynamic technical team of Eddie Kramer and George Marino. The Experience's Paris performance features nine fiery recordings, including two rousing Blues classics "Killing Floor" and "Catfish Blues;" six unforgettable live performances featuring some of Jimi Hendrix's most celebrated self-penned compositions including "Foxey Lady," "Red House," "The Wind Cries Mary," "Fire," "Little Wing" and the ageless "Purple Haze;" plus "Drivin' South," a composition Hendrix first recorded and performed in 1965 while serving as one of R&B/Soul musician, Curtis Knight's young guitarists. This collection is rounded out with the inclusion of three previously unreleased live recordings of The Experience’s performance at the Capitol Theatre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The three, previously unreleased songs represented here include The Beatles' hit single "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" along with two classic Hendrix anthems including "Fire" and "Purple Haze." These new recordings were taped during the band’s first show on the evening of March 19, 1968 and are sourced from a previously undiscovered tape. Authentic Hendrix Item Number: 800-001-025

The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live at the Oakland Coliseum CD
The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At The Oakland Coliseum is a raw, two-track monophonic audience recording of the Experience at the height of their creative powers. Spread over two discs, The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live In Oakland presents the group's April 27, 1969 concert at the Oakland Coliseum. The Experience's spirited Oakland performance was capped off with an eighteen minute, extended jam of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". Joining the group onstage for this final number was Jefferson Airplane bassist [and Electric Ladyland contributor] Jack Casady. The concert was recorded by Ken Koga using a single microphone onto a portable Sony reel to reel deck. The concert was not professionally recorded, so Ken's amatuer tapes represent the only known documentation of this inspired performance. The monophonic sound is unobtrusive and clear, but far from industry [as well as Jimi's own] standards. Fans of the Experience will recognize the set list, as songs such as "Fire", "Purple Haze", and "Spanish Castle Magic" were staples of the 1969 US tour repertoire, but there are many intriguing elements marbled throughout the eighty-five minute performance. Highlights include Jimi's spontaneous reworking of "Hey Joe", complete with passages about the `soldiers in Vietnam'. Jimi's two blues workouts, "Red House" and "Hear My Train A'Comin" are particularly strong, as is a raucous, extended rendition of "Foxey Lady". The evening came to a close with a rousing finale, as Casady climbed onstage to join the group for "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". Authentic Hendrix Item Number: 622-001-016

Jimi Hendrix: People, Hell & Angels CD
People, Hell & Angels is a new album of twelve never before released Jimi Hendrix studio recordings. This special album showcases the legendary guitarist working outside of the original Jimi Hendrix Experience trio. Beginning in 1968, Jimi Hendrix grew restless, eager to develop new material with old friends and new ensembles. Outside the view of a massive audience that had established the Experience as rock’s largest grossing concert act and simultaneously placed two of his albums together in the US Top 10 sales chart, Jimi was busy working behind the scenes to craft his next musical statement. These twelve recordings encompass a variety of unique sounds and styles incorporating many of the elements—horns, keyboards, percussion and second guitar—Jimi wanted to incorporate within his new music. People Hell & Angels presents some of the finest Jimi Hendrix guitar work ever issued and provides a compelling window into his growth as a songwriter, musician and producer.
